What's NewWhite Dove - a new cd recorded in San Francisco with guitarist/composer Dusan Bogdanovic |
interesting people and their websites
Dusan Bogdanovic- the most interesting composer/musician/ guitarist I've had the opportunity to work with. A continuing source of inspiration to everyone who knows him or has had the chance to listen to his playing or his compositions and improvisations. Joaquin Nin-Culmell- the late composer and pianist who was the last living student of Manuel Falla. A remarkeable person of great wit and compassion who I had the good fortune to work with during the last years of his life.
Elizabeth Glass Photography- many of the photos on this site were taken by Elizabeth. Though she makes her living as a commercial photographer, her art exhibits are not to be missed.
Paul Schraub Photography- the black and white photo to your left was taken by Paul (and a few others on the site). Paul has an eye for detail and a knack for catching his subjects during a moment that reveals their spirit.
Miroslav Tadic- ace musician and guitarist as well as a few other notable skills, miroslav mentored my first adventures into computers, websites and audio recording. he shares his site with a fascinating friend and colleague, the percussionist, Mark Nauseef. Farinaz Agharabi- (aka DJ fari) is a serious amateur photographer and a knitter who sells her knits at Fariknits (I model for her knitwear line on occasion, and some of her photos are shown on this site) She also hosts 3 radio shows at KUSF 90.3 FM and works as an IT Project Manager to make a living! Podcasts of her shows are available at www.kusf-archives.org.
Danica Sena Gakovich- phenomenal dancer and musician- Danica dances, choreographs and directs various groups as well as teaches Spanish and Flamenco dance at ODC dance commons, rhythm and motion, City Dance Studios and MCCLA (Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts) etc., etc. Danica is a tremendously gifted performer and director of seemingly limitless energy and ideas. Though she doesn't have her own website as of yet, I've put in a link to a pdf description of her classes with a bio. And, yes, the website will be up soon.
J. Russo- a singer/songwriter/musician I've come to know who works in an entirely different field of music but whose songs, lyrics and worldview I enjoy and appreciate. Well worth a visit to his website. Gila Goldstein- I met Gila at a gig in upstate New York for a friends' wedding and have been enjoying her cd's and concerts ever since. Well worth a listen, this is a pianist with both fiery temperament and deep sensitivity. Dan Ripley Catering- I work with Dan and his fine team of event specialists when I'm not working as a musician. A better group of people you couldn't find and the food and service is, I should say, real ART...........
