Yes, my friends, It’s summer in San Francisco!! Well, our kind of summer that is. And, we’ve been having some spectacularly changeable weather this year even for our beloved home town. Warm, cold? wet? within the space of an hour, or simply traveling from one neighborhood to another. Our fair city encompasses it all, with a windy flair for the provocative and unexpected. Fireworks will ignite the air on the 4th, of course, creating cascades of twirling light across the bay, but here at Opera Cocktales we will begin the month with our own special brand of fire, the passion created inside the operatic music we love best! Sparks will fly!!

This month’s Opera Cocktales includes some of our cherished lieder repertoire and a few new operatic endeavors. Spanish arias from Gimenez and Joaquin Nin-Culmell, a rose of fiery Carmen repertoire and a bit of madness from Verdi’s Macbeth and Puccini’s Tosca. July cascades into Aria Fire with our own operatic celebration of the season.
