The new Clarion Music Center will be celebrated by a Halloween Haunted House Grand Opening Gala on October 31, from 4 to 8 pm. Come see San Francisco’s beloved world music shop (since 1982) metamorphoses into a Chinatown’s music and performing arts center.
Vismaya Lhi – spinto soprano
Tristan Robben – baritone
Rachel Warner – contralto
Gregory Spear – tenor
Ellen Young – soprano
with the extraordinary Osvaldo de Leon Davila at the piano
Teatro Mistral Performers will be live at 5:15pm and 7pm
The Haunted House is free and open to the public (donations gladly accepted.) Live music, theater, poetry, dance, face painting and even a 2.5D animation of tombstones flying in an eerie space will be presented by local musicians, artists and those with a scientific mind. Dead Poets rise to the occasion—Silvia Plath with her head in the oven; the dark and darker Edgar Allan Poe and his raven; operatic arias of the most frightening kind; Mexican and Tibetan tombstones, altars, surprises and exotic treats… With all the scary stuff it is family friendly. Come in disguise. Be part of the creative scene. Music, Arts and Poetry never die.
