Greetings Opera Cocktales Fans, Friends and Family!
The days grow darker and the fierce winds of our beloved city race through the steep streets,
cold fingered phantoms aching to find final release in the churning waves of the surrounding Bay.
November brings us, finally, to the election that has burned in our minds for the last few months –
and so my friends, whatever you believe in, change is on its way.
Here at Opera Cocktales, change has been kind to us.
New folks have arrived this fall as others moved on,
and we have been impressed by their musicality, determination and love for the classical art form.
It has occured to me recently that we have some very talented pianists joining us as collaborators
who are also excellent solo players in their own right.
As such, I’ve decided to ask them to play a few of their favorites at each Opera Cocktales show.
This month, our collaborative pianist, Christian Broussard Douglas,
will be playing a few solo pieces from Alberto Ginastera’s Suite de Danzas Criollas op. 15.
You won’t want to miss it!
